Rocky Shores Retreat is a classic Door County bay-front getaway cottage. Whether you want to cook a favorite meal, roast marshmallows by the fire pit, or enjoy kayaking and paddleboarding on the water, this cottage has it all. Curated with a mix of new and vintage, the space was designed to function for families or groups of families. Located 15 minutes off the highway and about 15 minutes from Sturgeon Bay, the property is quite convenient to access all of Door County while still enjoying the peacefulness of the water.

Wake up to sunrises over the lake while you sip coffee on the large deck or watch sunsets while you drink hot cocoa by the fire pit. During warmer months, enjoy swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding off the shore (we have four kayaks and one paddleboard for guest use). The kitchen is fully equipped and begs to be cooked in. The backyard is great for yard games or just relaxing, and you'll enjoy a beautiful view while doing whatever you like!

Living Area:
Enter the main living area through the front door, and you'll immediately notice the original warm wood interior, comfortable dining space for the whole family, the original Door County stone fireplace (open late October - April), and large windows overlooking the water. The main dining/living room is the space that initially made us fall in love with this cottage. The living room is perfect for quiet mornings with coffee and breakfast overlooking the bay or lively evenings playing board games or watching movies on the flat-screen Smart TV above the fireplace. The dining room and living room are ample open-concept spaces that flow together seamlessly so that the entire family can enjoy one another's company while at Rocky Shores. 

Kitchen/Dining Area:
You'll love the well-stocked kitchen with all of the essentials. Rocky Shores is designed for families to gather and eat together. Whether you want to grill some fantastic brats from nearby Marchant's Grocery, bake breakfast scones from Sunflower Bakery in Sturgeon Bay, or craft any other meals you can dream up with the family, we've got you covered. The dining table seats up to 8 guests.

Bedrooms:
Sink into bed after a day on the water or rest after enjoying all the Door County has to offer. The master bedroom features a king bed fully equipped with fresh linens, a ceiling fan, and ample closet and dresser space for extended vacations. The guest bedroom features two queen beds and contains a washer and dryer for your use while at Rocky Shores. The bedrooms have new flooring as of Fall, 2022.

Bunk House (Kid's Cottage):
The bunkhouse is perfect for the kids, grandkids, or even adults! It is a separate building from the main cottage with awesome views of the water! (attached to the garage, just steps from the main cottage). It comes furnished with a bunk bed with sleeping for three (3) and a queen sleeper sofa that sleeps 2.  The bunk room also has an internet connected TV and a refrigerator/freezer.  The space is on its own heating & air conditioning system so that it will be comfortable even in the hottest or coldest months. Please note that the bunkhouse does not have its own bathroom.

Bathroom:
Rocky Shores has a single but well-appointed bathroom with convenient soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers, a heater just outside the shower, and plenty of space for families to get ready in the morning before heading out to enjoy Door County.

Outdoor Deck, Waterfront, Patio, and Fire Pit Areas:
Perhaps the best part of Rocky Shores Retreat is the outdoors! With a large backyard and 180' shoreline, you'll have ample outdoor space for relaxing in the hammock or playing yard games like bag toss. The most prominent feature is the large deck, which is partially shaded by cedar trees and overlooks the water - it's a great spot for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Enjoy the outdoor spaces well into the evening with the outdoor lighting over the deck and ample seating for family and friends. The fire pit area is surrounded by Adirondack chairs and makes a great spot for marshmallow roasting or fireside family fun. . It's the perfect spot to enjoy Door County's beautiful waterfront.

Whenever the weather is nice, we love to head outdoors for some fun in the sun. And, thanks to the well-equipped outdoor space, you'll never be short on things to do. We've got four kayaks for exploring Little Sturgeon Bay, a stand-up paddleboard for soaking up some rays, and a bag toss game for when we're feeling competitive. Plus, we've got all the classic yard games like frisbee and horseshoes. And when we're ready to relax, we can always lounge in the hammock with a good book. No matter what we're in the mood for, our outdoor space has you covered. (Kayaks, paddleboards, and yard games are available from May/June to September)

The brick patio on the south side of the cottage is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The patio is a great place to relax when the wind is coming off the water. The Weber grill is perfect for cooking up a delicious meal and is just steps away from the kitchen. You'll also find comfortable and inviting seating, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee.

You may purchase firewood at several roadside sellers within minutes of the cottage. However, you will often find firewood at the cottage, though we don't explicitly provide it in the summer.

Rates

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.

We use dynamic pricing, so each night is priced differently depending on seasonality, day of the week, local events, etc. Please first select your dates and then you will see the total price. In general, summer prices are higher, with weeknights starting at around $300 plus taxes and cleaning fee while weekend nights start around $400 and go up from there. Winter prices start around $225 for weeknights and $300 for weekends.
